Asom Sahitya Sabha 2025 Venue and Preparations
Asom Sahitya Sabha 2025 venue in Pathsala Bhattadev khetro. Pathsala, known as a cultural and educational hub in the Bajali district, is fully prepared to host this prestigious event. As of 31st January, preparations were complete, with the main stage, book fair premises, Science Fair, exhibition area, and Naamghar all set up to welcome guests. The organizing committee has made extensive arrangements for accommodations and logistics to ensure a seamless experience for attendees.
Highlights of the Session
- Cultural Programs: The festival will feature a rich array of cultural performances that showcase the diverse traditions of Assam and the Northeast. Local artists will perform on opening day, followed by renowned figures like Pulak Banerjee and Mithun Dhar on subsequent days. There will also be classical and folk performances, including Satriya and Devdasi dances
- Science Fair: A notable addition this year is the introduction of a science fair, aimed at bridging the gap between literature and science. This initiative will include exhibits valued at ₹500 crore across 22 stalls and is set to be inaugurated by Minister Keshab Mahanta. The fair aims to foster scientific curiosity among students and the public
- Symbolic Structures: A massive japi, crafted from 1,500 tokou leaves sourced from Arunachal Pradesh, will serve as a grand welcoming symbol for literature enthusiasts. This traditional Assamese hat embodies the cultural heritage of the region
Government Support and Community Involvement
The Assam government has declared 2025 as the “Year of Books,” encouraging citizens to buy and gift books during the session. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma emphasized the importance of fostering a culture of reading and learning within the community
